TAKOMA PARK SENIOR PROGRAM
Artists from Art For The People have provided arts and crafts workshops through the Takoma Park Recreation Council since 2001.
The Maryland State Arts Council funded a AFTP program called "The Gift of Art". Seniors sewed blankets for the residents of the Helping Hands Family Shelter in Rockville, Maryland and painted small acrylic works which were donated to Holy Cross Hospital adult day care.
AFTP provides ongoing arts and crafts to seniors.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM
Art for the People has held workshops for women in the Montgomery County Pre-Release Center, making handpainted cups, tote bags, felt beads, yarn dolls, fleece pillows and personal collage journals.
COMMUNITY MURAL FOR THE OLD BLAIR AUDITORIUM
Art For The People held 3 workshops at the Silver Spring International Middle School. Storytellers and performers worked with visual artists and community members, inspiring designs by kids and families.
Funded by grants from the Maryland State Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
