ART FOR THE PEOPLE is a non-profit organization bringing art education, art projects and art events to communities with little access to the arts.  It serves people with few other opportunities for self-expression and provides support and encouragement for their creative explorations.

AFTP aims to match a caring group of artists, who are also experienced teachers, with people who are deprived of the life-enhancing benefits that come with making art. We bring activities to:

• Children in family homeless shelters and children at festivals
• 
Teens at risk or developmentally disabled
• 
Seniors

• Adult shelters 

• Men, women and their families in correctional programs

We have also organized and executed community-created mosaic murals in the Takoma Park area.
